Matt Sconce- Stricken

No, it would come off clipped. The story is tense and needs the pauses and drawn out moments. Also, I have been promoting it outside of the fest to give it legs to run to feature funding, so it is ineligible that way too. I don't mind though. I enter the contests for the feedback, to make myself a better film maker.:) I hope everyone enjoys it. It is disturbing so some might not get it or like it, but I sure do.

I completely agree. The project we're working on won't make the deadline, and even if it did, we would have to cut it too much to make the 6 minute mark that the story would suffer in the end. So we're extending our shooting deadline to Oct 14th and 15th. Like you say, it's to make ourselves better filmmakers and to just get out and make a movie...

I did a little test screening today and will be making some slight changes. I will darken a scene here and there. I am calling a sound engineer tomorrow, who i hope will help me make the sound perfect. That is my update. I'll let you know more later.

Thanks for posting that noise reduction tutorial. I cannot believe how effective that is in cleaning up the footage. I know I will be using that someday.

UPDATE: Leo gardini just sent me the theme for Stricken and it basically blew my mind. It is absolutely phenomenal and conveys all the emotions I hoped for!!!! YAY! :Drogar-Love(DBG):

Here is the first in a series of Behind the Scenes....This is the shot that almost shut us down...The shot that could have ended VERY badly........

Our small little actress' mother was holding one of the hoses for the rain scene. It was dark and we had a lot of water coming down. Our actress playing Jenny had to drive my 50 chevy for the scene where they pull up to the house after the restaurant scene. We had a large light aimed at the car windshield as she was pulling up and evidently, she could not see us frantically waiving at her to stop so she kept this massive hunk of metal rolling forward into Tiama and almost into the Garage door. Luckily Tiama is agile and jumped out of the way......I am SO glad. Enjoy the little clip of the incident.....

Almost had a real body to use for your short! Glad everyone is okay. Running over people might've cut the shoot a bit short as you said.

Looking forward to it Matt. Rain looked real good.

Tim.

The Blooper reel has been taken down but will be on the DVD. Go a couple pages ahead to see the BTS.
