is it me or it looks like the railgun in minority report? and a little like the Sulaco too!

it reminds me something but i don´t quite remember it!
 
that's worse than the balsa wood HVX mock up. $40,000? I think TC was drunk and ending up at some UFO museum in Roswell. The NAB show is in Las Vegas!

im pretty sure that was even worse then my post....

The camera looks futuristic and sounds exciting, but a camera isn't a camera untill some images are captured. Im just saying... For now, ill take in the vapor and anticipate as well.
 
looks like its freshly grown out of the rapid prototyping machine to me.

looks cool though...i dig the design allot.

this is a good step in the right direction.
 
I don't understand how you can knock this. You are witnessing the future unfold. Would you honestly prefer to have no images, no knowledge of the building process. We have been invited to watch this thing be built, watch the testing, see the first footage. So what if all there is right now is a rough frame? I don't care. The simple fact that this camera is going to deliver 4x the performance of cameras that cost 5x as much is going to be nothing short of monumental.

Would it have been nice to see footage? Yeah
Would it have been nice to see a working demo? Yeah
Does not seeing these change the fact that you are watching the future of camera technology unfold before your eyes? NO!!!

Why do people feel necessary to ***** and moan when things are being built? Rome wasn't built in a day, neither is this camera. In the last 12 hours we've learned more about this camera than we knew in the past 4 months. So what if it isn't a working prototype? The Red is the real deal...

I don't get it either. And if there had been footage I can already hear all the complaints about noise. :evil: (Noise that in actuality is non-existant.)
 
Of course come in! All I am saying is be patient and be positive! We went through accusations of vaporware 6 months ago. This is indeed a revolution and the big 3 (Sony fell out of the race last year) are shaking in their pants !

Our filmmaking futures look prosperous!
 
I don't care what it looks like, just what the pictures it produces looks like. Guess it'll be a little while before we see that. But if the picture holds up, the price is definitly right.
