Shane,
mine arrived today too

there are some issues with my beta unit. But Quyen has been great about addressing these! It is at the beginning of it's very first production cycle and I am confident that he is trying to build the best and most affordable product he can and will only keep making this better!
These are 1080 60i that I deinteraced and that's all.
They were shot with a Nikkor 50mm lens

Shane - what kind of Rod system is that?
thanks,

~John

Hello Emanuel,

The projected price is $850.00 US

You can read the original dvinfo post here:

Hi Brian,

:dankk2: for your answer.

Are you from this 35mm adapter project or related to?

EDIT -- I'm looking for the best 35mm adapter solution as relay lens if possible and it seems a good option. The New Yorker John Benton is there too, so I've trust & hope that we'll be noticed by his expert interest regarding these health competition: G35, Brevis35 & Letus35 (with some good points to this last one: lossless relay lens & image flip built in -- it's a must!)

What do you think?

BTW, John (how are you?) have you any news from the Winston Vargas' 70mm adapter? And first of all, tell us more about your feed-back and your expectations vs. the other brothers (G35 & Brevis35)...

Take care,
Emanuel

I just saw a clip from John Benton and it showed A LOT of promise. It looked like he had a little trouble pulling focus with the 50mm lens, but the footage had an interesting quality to it, and even though it looked a little washed out and foggy, some adjustments to contrast and color in QT player made the image really POP a lot more and look pretty filmic...despite being a 1080i clip!

I am very intrigued by this adapter so far.

LETUS35XL ..
Canon XLH1 ..
50mm Canon F1.4 ..
16x9 SD F2 ..

I will post HD FOOTAGE soon, sorry this is a low quality file (6.1MB).

Wow, a deleted scene from Private Ryan? Heh, that was interesting to see the ridiculously shallow DOF with your army guys shot.

I do hope you can post some HD footage, and please make it 24F material.

Thanks so much for contributing!

Very nice.
yeah I think that a lot of the focus problems I was having were due to trying to focus in the viewfinder of tha canon.
I am thinking of a follow focus like Shane's, but also thinking of an on Cam monitor - purely for the focussing nuances.

Hello Emanuel,

No, I'm not affiliated with the Letus35XL. I have been reading about its development for a few months. I am interested in it because of its form factor--not having to use the stock XL lens will help shorten the camera set-up.

I am very appreciative of these beta testers' efforts.

Hey John,

Thanks for the test results. I noticed you're in NYC ...

Interested in meeting up? I'd like to see this adapter in action in person ...

I can bring my XL-H1 too and it'll be a party!!!

I'll be shooting a short in the upcoming week ... maybe we can test it out then :)

I will once he gets his daily bandwidth allotment returned. Can't download because y'all beat me to it!
