Zunow wide angle lens for DVX200

Has anyone purchased a wide angle lens yet? If so, what brand, Model #, and will it let you do a full zoom? How much and where?
Thanks
Bob

I too am interested in hearing what people are using for a wide angle adapter on this camera. Seems like Zunow has three flavors (.6x, .7x, and .8x conversion) with the .6x being significantly cheaper.

Anybody?

Thanks,

Eric

When I was buying the DVX-200 and selling my Sony NX-3 I thought about bundling my Sony VCL-HG0872K .8x wide angle adaptor too, assuming it to be incompatible with the DVX-200's mount. Looking at the two I could see they must be a close match and once curiosity got the better of me I had a go at putting it on and 'hey presto !' it fits a treat and with absolutely zero modification required. The only thing I'd say is missing is a reassuring click when you twist it into place, but it holds good, doesn't swivel and does the job of 0.8x widening as well as it did on the Sony range of 'G Lens' cameras it was designed for. I also now have full use of my 4x4 glass filter collection again too, via the filter frame and matte box.

I already own the Zunow WCX-80 for use with my Sony X70. I read somewhere, that the Zunow WCX-80 is NOT compatible with the DVX 200... But it has a 72mm thread. Can somebody confirm that or have expiriences with that combination? (Zunow WCX-80 and DVX 200). THX!

Allen, Can you zoom with this Sony Lens or do you lose focus?

I got one HG0872 (without K) before yesterday. But without modification the inner lens comes to the frontlense of the DVX200, so I get one 72mm distancer. Now it´s working. in 1080 you see a vignette until z06, in UHD no vignette, looks good no focus losing when in good light situation. For about me the most disturbing thing is that the camera is with the HG0872 very topheavy
Not good for long run and gun sessions. But one more possibiltiy. You can get it very cheap on ebay, I got mine for 40 Euro.

In response to the previous few comments, I believe the VCL-HG0872 and the VCL-HG0872K are completely different models and of different construction. I've certainly seen comments on Amazon where people complained about ordering one version and receiving the other. I guess Sony boobed by having the model number so similar. To summarise, I have the 'K' version and you certainly will not get one for anything like 40 Euro or equivalent, try adding another zero at least on there. Yes it does fit well, I'll produce a short GoPro video soon showing me fitting it and how simple it is. Yes you can shoot through the adaptor without focus issues, I've only attempted this in manual focus so far but certainly no complaints. The 'K' model attaches in exactly the same way as the lens hood does, basically you twist it to 45 degrees and put it on or off, no adaptor required. I haven't seen the non 'K' version for myself, is it a screw on type, screwing onto the filter thread of the DVX-200 ?
