ZR1000 Remote Zoom Controller?

Has anyone had a chance to test the compatibility between the XH A1 and the Canon ZR1000 Remote Zoom Controller?
 
if you mean the third party remotes, then both Canon and Sony use the same Lanc protocols, so any Lanc remote should work on both cameras.
 
But not all the functions will work. You can not switch Lanc remotes and have all the functions, some are brand specialistic.

That's what I'm curious about. I mean the thing is made by Canon for Canon, but I can't find any mention of the XH A1 being "completely" compatible.
If it was fully functional with the A1 it seems to be a great deal. Inexpensive and uselful (and smart looking to boot).

Zoom will work, but start and stop or break not always on any general lanc gear. The ZR-1000 and ZR-2000 Canon zoom remotes however will work, they are listed on the Canon system diagram.
 
i tried using the cavision shoulder mount with the sony remote and it wouldn't zoom--just did the focus. it was a rental, so maybe it's dinged, but i think something's amiss...
