Zoom Speed Problem

Does anyone else have a problem with the speed of XH A1's zoom? I mean, 1.5 seconds to zoom in is kind of fast, but it makes me feel like I don't have as much control as with DVX100. I think that's the single worst feature on XH A1. I don't have a problem with puttting the battery inside and not even focusing and zooming at the same time. Those don't bother me, but the zoom speed really does bother me. Am I the only one? Otherwise, awesome camcorder, of course.

You can set the zoom speed to an almost unnoticeable creep zoom by flipping the switch near the recording button (the one that says C-V) to C (Constant). Then there's a jog wheel on top of that. That allows you to choose between sixteen constant zoom speed.

Yes.

I think that's the single worst feature on XH A1.

Also agreed.

Regardless of the "wheel" and speed control system on the A1, I think the DVX has better zoom control.

Yeah I posted the exact same thread about a week or two ago. There's others, including me that share the same opinion. The zoom does suck, but the rest is so goooooood! :love4:
