Additional programmable speed curves would provide new options for creativity.
-Sometimes an idea needs some electronic tools to be brought to life. This audio-visual technology prooves that more than enough.
I just wrote that to avoid comments like: "well, you can use manual focus to do what ever you want". Depends on what does someone want.
I want more options.

Great idea. RED should redesign the whole way the zoom button works. I have a Canon GL1. It has 3 different zoom speeds. But you have to go to a menu to change them. That takes too long. Red should have a dial that you can set an infinite number of zoom speeds with. Also the zoom on my GL1 doesn't always work good with the image stablilizer. The zoom on the RED should. I hope the RED has an image stablilizer. Maybe it will be in the lens and not in the camera. But the two should work well together. Also the zoom button should be sturdy. Have more than one zoom button incase one breaks. Redundance is important. My GL1 has a redundant zoom on the handle.

The Canon XL, I believe if I am correct, has a setting where you can set the start and stop point of the zoom. My GL1 doesn't have that. Does a DVX? Anyways, RED should have set points for the zoom. that way when I zoom out, I don't zoom out too far.
