Zhongyi "Lens Turbo" EOS - M43

I like it. It widens and brightens, adding some outside edge fringes and probably some bad colors. But, am happy, will use it when needed. Doesn't fit my Canon 10-22mm :( But fits Sigma 18-35, Canon 50mm 1.4, kit 18-55, kit 55-250 EF lenses. Sooooo, will come in real handy. This was setup, light, point, focus, film, done, thing.

Lens: Canon 50mm set to sharpest f4.0, Center was focused as tight as I could. (AND THE UPLOAD PICS SHOWN HERE WERE SCALED DOWN IN SIZE AND QUALITY, see download below)

1. no turbo, just adapter framed to fit like turbo 2. no turbo, jsut lens 3. lens turbo on

I think this turbo will be very handy.

I forgot to mention the FIT: Fits fine for me. As snug as anything else I have attached. There is some TWIST wiggle room - like where you twist to put it on, on the camera side, and the lens mount, but not enough to bother me. It may really annoy others though

I don't recall seeing any MK version markings on it, but will check tonight.

(here's a pic I'd uploaded somewhere)

ah, no it is not that one. Works fine though. Not Earthshatteringly game changing, but very useful to me.

Yeah I also just received this speedbooster, it's also called mitakon.

I love it! Brighter, wider, s35 DOF on m43 etc. but ever so slightly softer than stock (normal adapter no speedboost) and a bit softer on corners.

Maybe not earth shattering or game changing but really nice nevertheless..

thanks for the nice download pics! How did you set your canon 50mm f1.4 Efs lens to f4?? Lol there's no apeture adjustment??

I'm keeping my Canon T3i body for BTS and to set the Aperture on my Canon lenses. You hold the DOF CHECK button and remove the lens live and it stays where it is set. :D

soooo.. does this Adapter change/reduce the DOF? I didn't even think about that. That why they call it a Focal "REDUCER"? Now I feel dumb.! :D

I am using the Nikon version 1 of this adapter with Nikon AI-S lenses, and absolutely love it. I shoot a lot of single person interviews, and the Nikon 50mm f/1.4 AI-S lens becomes a 35mm f/1.0 lens, that I stop down to a SpeedBoosted F-stop of f/1.4 ( f/2.0 without the SpeedBooster ) to eliminate most of the lens coma which greatly improves the overall image. Compared to normal Lumix lenses, I have to sharpen things a little in post, but the final image looks absolutely great. ( I currently own 5 Nikon AI-S lenses, and am now going to buy two more because of how much I like this adapter )

Glad to hear the nikon's are working out, I have 9 Ais lenses for my D800 stills - wow. Beautiful optics. The 85 f1.4 is a work of art. Nine lenses and have not broken the $3K mark yet. The 135 f3.5 cost me $25 at a garage sale - nice character and so sharp it ain't funny. Looking forward to S/Booster and Gh4.

Looks like the real Metabones Speedbooster is getting much closer to release. They just release one for the BlackMagic Pocket Camera.
I'm thinking I may not even need it now. It will be about $660 ....pfff and my stupid 10-22mm canon lens might not even fit on it :P

someone here pointed out Mitakon is making a version II to release soon with improvements, if you want to wait

One thing to consider is that the zhongyi Mitakon adapter does NOT work with Nikon type G lenses, but the more expensive MetaBones SpeedBooster does. This does not effect me as I only own Nikon AI-S lenses, but if I ever want to use a Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8 or Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 zoom I'll have to spring for the MetaBones adapter.

Thanks for the link. Mine are all F-Mount so I should be good. Have you had experience with the other versions of this (Metabones, RJ Lens Turbo, etc)? If so, what differences did you notice?
