GH2 Zero Budget Music Vid Shot on GH2

I posted my last no budget vid on here that I shot using a GH2 and a borrowed HVX:

I recently completed another video for the same band:

This video was again zero budget and we had even less kit and crew to work with.

We got the location for free, and shot solely with the GH2, bar a few guitar Close-Ups that were shot with an NEX.

For the tracking shots I used a cheap skater-dolly that ran on a pasting table!

Lenses used were ebay bought FD lenses using an adapter: 50mm, 1.8 and 24mm, 2.8. Also used 14-45 Lumix kit lens.

If anyone has any questions I'd be more than happy to answer them!

Many Thanks!

The band Ball of Mayhem are currently unsigned, and are from the North-East of England.

I should be doing another vid for them soon. I can't recommend enough the use of a GH2 on a low budget shoot!

Awesome man! :)

I want to start making music videos, and I just got the GH2.. got any tips for me? :)

Yeah, I would say the key to getting the most out of anything, especially when there's no budget, is to make a list of any resources that are available to you.

If a friend of a friend has a location or kit you can use, just ask, but be polite and courteous - that's how I got both videos made for zero money spent.

The scrap yard was local to me, and a relative of mine knew the owner. I went along to ask his permission, and had no problem getting the location.

I was honest about why we were doing the vid (for an unsigned local band), and they were glad to help someone from the region.

The car drop was done at the end of the five-hour shoot, and we simply asked one of the crane operators on the day if we could do it. He agreed, and it was done in one take!
