1DC: Zacuto Z-Finder help?

So i'm a bit un-familiar with this system since the magnetic one I used. I ordered these products based on what B&H told me:
http://store.zacuto.com/z-finder-3-2-mounting-frame-for-tall-dslr-bodies/
http://store.zacuto.com/z-finder-pro-3x-for-3-2-screens/

I feel a bit dumb trying to install this kit. But I find that the base plate is centered on the camera, and the Tall Frame slides(where the Red Screws would allow you to mount to the camera) are located WAY far left when looking at the back of the camera, making it appear unusable.

I can't find any info anywhere online about it.

Someone care to help or have recommendations/photos of installation? I'm at a loss.

Thanks guys!

You want to use the small bar that came with the tall finder. The base plate has a cut-out to mount the bar which allows for left-right movement to adjust as best fits. See this video at ~00:43:

I have the older version of the base plate but it worked fine with a 1DMIV and works fine with a 1DX.

Even when pushed all the way to the left and closer to the screen, it doesn't even come close to aligning on the 1DC.

I'm guessing you need a different base plate then. I have the older dslr gorilla one (not the v2) and it works fine on the 1D X. If Zacuto doesn't make it any more then you may need to get this but check with Zacuto first.
