C100: Zacuto Target Shooter?

I've been unable to find reviews of anyone using the target shooter with the C100/C300. Does anyone here have any experience with it? I happily use my C100 handheld with the internal VF to get steady shots but only when using IS lenses. I am wondering if having something like a target shooter can improve things enough that I can get stable footage using lenses in the 24-50mm focal length range without IS?

I'd love to be able to handhold with some of my Zeiss lenses!

I honestly think the target shooter is the best handheld rig out there for the c100. I haven't used it but am very close to purchasing it. With a stabilized lens especially you would definitly be able to get great handhelds shots with this. I can get smooth shots with my edelkrone pocket rig and my hoodman lcd loupe, although i'm thinking of upgrading from the pocket rig, cause its really more tailored towards dslr's. But I can get smooth shots with unstabilized lenses with that combo. A zacuto c100 z finder and a target shooter would be a superb rig

It does seem quite great but I just wonder why I haven't heard of anyone using it with the C100 yet? Also would you use the zfinder or would that push the whole rig too far forwards requiring the use of a grip relocator?

I think it would be fine. I haven't used the zacuto z finder yet, but I will have my hands on one this thursday. I think the thing is the c100 is still so relatively new, and the rigs for it are quite new as well, so naturally there's just not much out there on them. There's not much out there on any of the zacuto c100 rigs honestly. Don't let this deter you. If you search zacuto c-shooter review, pretty much the only one that comes up is fellow dvx-er Erik Naso. They actually suggest to use the z-finder with the target shooter, so I don't see why it wouldn't work great

Ah cool, mind updating this thread when you get your hands on the zfinder? I have the zfinder pro 3x for DSLR and remember initially they said they'd have a trade program to get the C100 zfinder, any news on that?

I just got the target shooter a couple of days ago. Is it worth the $500 (5x as much as similar systems) who knows... I must say it is really really solid though. Ive set up a small handheld rig with the C100, 24-105mm lens, target shooter and a switronix bolt LED (on an articulating arm clamped onto the handle) and everything is so solidly screwed together there is just no play at all.

It is quite heavy though so I'll see how my next shoot goes which will be entirely handheld at a nightclub. I may need to throw on a better microphone as in quiet conditions the internal mics pick up the fan and IS noise. Maybe a Sennheiser ME64/K6 or even a AT857R will do the job.
