Has anyone used this setup? Is it comfortable and practical?

I need to get a compfortable hand held rig, doing it raw dog is killing my back.

Also anyone have a Zacuto discount code? This stuff is expensive!

I have used the shoulder mount but not the handgrips. The shoulder mount is quite comfortable. Keep in mind, though, that it is on the Zacuto baseplate which is very sturdy but also heavy.

Anything from Zacuto is absolute top of the line. Nothing is left to chance. Total precision. Yes, you pay for it. But Zacuto gear is a buy once as opposed to so much of the junky gear that just falls apart. With this handheld rig, though, weight might be a concern.

I have both a DVRig Pro and a DVMultiRig and am very happy with both units.

A great value is what Ned suggests as alternatives to the Zacuto gear.

Might want to take a look at those first.

Thanks!

I have the zacuto baseplate and it is very nice. I feel so silly spending a $1000 to shoulder mount a $5000 camera though.

those dv rigs look good, but the nice thing about the zacuto is that you can pop it off the tripod and onto your shoulder in an instant with no extra gear.

You can put a tripod plate on the DV MultiRig and pop that right off as well.

I think that Zacuto is great but the MultiRig is much more flexible.

im not sure how ready the shoulder mount Joel said he was planning, but just in case you should goto hysonfilms.com and send him an email, i cross my fingers that you get a good answer about it coming soon :)

I have the shoulder mount, handgrips and lunchbox (counterweight). So far I am very pleased with the quality and performance.
