C100: Zacuto C-Shooter with C100 and Atomos Ninja2

That Zacuto C-Shooter looks to be just about the perfect rig for the C100. Before I pull the trigger on it I was wondering if it would be stable enough to use with no eye contact point (as in, not using an EVF/loupe). I intend to have the ninja 2 attached where the EVF would go instead.

I would basically have three points of contact: over the shoulder, hand grip and my free hand on the camera for focusing (possibly with a follow focus).

Would it still be stable? I intend to use this mostly with my Samyang cine primes so I wouldn't have any IS on the lenses. Is that required for these rigs?

I've actually never used a rig for filming before, I mostly use my manfrotto monopod. But this seems like a more flexible solution for the C100 especially since I want the ninja attached.

It's going to come down to balance when the camera is on your shoulder. You will have to add a counter weight or battery in the back. The grip relocater is brilliant.

I am going to be using it to shoot some weddings as well as a doco I have lined up. As I said I did use the manfrotto up until this point but more and more issues are starting to develop with it.I keep running into the kick you get when panning as well as the retractable legs which keep wanting to slide back down especially now with the much heavier C100. It is so bad that I know I can no longer rely upon it since the risk of one of those issues ruining my shot is always there.

The C-Shooter comes with a 3.5lb counter weight in the back, is that enough?

EDIT: I should add that my camera, lens, NTG mic and ninja2 weighs about 8.5 lbs...

I have a Tilta setup and use a DP6 instead of a EVF many times without issue. It's all in the balance. I would think the Target Shooter needs the contact points more since that setup has the camera in front of you.

Cheers Erik! I guess I can always throw another counterweight on the back if the 3.5lbs is not enough.

the Zacuto C-Shooter is virtually the only rig I have seen that I have liked for DSLR or any camera.
Neat and functional.
