I am in need of a new baseplate. I sold my Redrock rig because I am looking for a new configuration. So, I don't have a baseplate anymore.
I like the Redrock DSLR baseplate, however, if I would be using other cameras besides a DSLR, I can't use that baseplate and would need a new one.So, I found the Redrock Low Riser.
I asked the people at Redrock if I could use that, but they keey saying no because its not a DSLR specific baseplate. But, that's not what I'm worried about. It IF the low riser would be high enough to work with a DSLR or any other format camera I would use. - if attaching Follow focus, matte box, etc.
I also found the new Zacuto RED Scarlet Baseplate. - its a flate baseplate and in the front attaches a small riser. This would be perfect! - if I need to add a higher set of rods, I can attach the riser. But, what I'm wondering if its possible to mount it upside down. So, instead of up, its down.
