Z-Finder Pro Diopter does not seem to do anything.

I just got the Z-Finder Pro (the new one) and I was adjusting the diopter and I noticed that it does NOT change anything. I can physically see the eye piece move fowards and backwards, but it does not change the focus at all.

I am a bit near sighted (Not too bad, but I have to drive with glasses), so does that mean the Diopter does not apply to me and is more for people who are Far sighted?

I have an Eclair ACL and the diopter on that camera makes a huge difference, so is there something wrong with my Z-Finder Diopter since it does not seem to be doing anything?

I've had the same experience with mine as well... I am super nearsighted also.

Love the z-finder, though it disturbed me that the diopter seemed to do nothing at first.

Aye I thought this, but I do remember reading once that it only changes things from -0.5 to +1 or something like that.

Which isn't really that much so not really that useful.

I bought a cheap one from ebay no diopter. My solution was one of the off the shelf reading glasses.
Popped the lens out and stuck it in the eyepiece to compliment the original lens.
Only problem was I used super glue and got some slight misting between the two lenses. But still works.

I'm short sighted and found the diopter never adjusted far enough for me. I sold mine and bought the jag monitor x which works great for me.

z finder

I have similar problem but used the additional frames (3) that come with finder and that seems to work . . .no big improvement though
