Z-Finder 2.5x or 3x? (LCDVF 2x enough)??

OK.

So I think I'm going to splurge and get the new Zacudo Z-Finder Pro. You have a choice of 2.5x or 3x magnification (Same price).

I've read from some reports that 3x is too much and that the screens almost seems like a field of giant pixels. Would you guys who have the 3x version rather have a little less magnification at 2.5x?

Also, for you LCDVF people, is the 2x Magnification enough? 3x to me does seem a bit over-kill, but only in theory as I have not looked though any viewfinder yet. Maybe 2.5x is a good middle ground. What do you guys think?

I have the Zacuto 3X and think the 2.5 would be less pixellated. 3X may be annoying, but I have found that with it I can zero in on focus without having to back up.

I find the 3x on my friends Z-Finder to be way to close for comfort. The magnification on my DIY loupe is just right (it's DIY after all) and I'd guess that it's around 2x.

Of course, everyone has their own preferences.

Zacuto quote the 2.5 better for near sighted people. Can't wait for mine, but US to UK deliveries are all over the place thanks to the dust from Iceland.

This has been my problem. On my friend's z-finder, with 3x, I could barely get it sharp enough for my eye, without my glasses on. I can't even get the built eyepiece on my 7D sharp enough for my eye without glasses. It seems the 2.5x would be better, but also the use of extended frames puts some distance between your eye and the screen, maybe making it easier to focus.

I am nearsighted and find 3x to be very uncomfortable after 5/10 minutes, but I also wear contacts, so I don't see how that would be connected to my nearsightedness. Did Zacuto specify glasses/contacts? I can see how 3x would by default be difficult to use if you wear glasses.
