Your thoughts and prayers please.

I wish all three of you speedy recoveries, most especially your son (just because being sick when you're a kid is extra-no-fun).

May the Lord go forth with comfort and healing upon these parents and their child as we pray for a speedy recovery.

God Bless

Update:

Thank you to all. I am well and truly overwhelmed.

We found out yesterday he did indeed have RSV, though the initial tests said otherwise, but, all the tihings they would have done for him were already being administered. He is still having an imporabable good time, even without the company of mommy and dad.

Today was Aiden's first day of real improvement. The doctor are pleased, and I am beginning to have a small sense of relief. My wife is getting over her illness as well, and will be able to spend a large portion of tomorrow with him.

I am still wracked with Bronchitus, and though it makes me feel like I am having a constant kicking to the nuts not to be able to see him, I can not. Yesterday started my own bout of pukeing, though any real discomfort from has gone unnoticed by my frustration and fears about the boy.

Aiden probably will not come home until Sunday now. My little trooper has had an iv in him since Tuesday morning, and has not seen daddy in three days now, nor mommy in two.

I can't write anymore now, or I will sick up again thinking about it.

Thank you all, I just want my boy home.

Sorry to hear about that, man. glad to hear things are getting better.

My brother just had a baby a little over a month ago that had to go into the hospital at a week old with RSV. she recovered quickly though...

Hey Matt, sorry I'm late to the thread but it sounds like Aiden is doing better. Is RSV a virus?

My thoughts go out to you and your family.

Apparently when I was 2 years old I was in the hospital with the pneumonia and almost died so it its certainly a serious matter to deal with.

Hope your son comes home soon!

Best wishes to Aiden and your family. It's heartbreaking, but kids are tough.

My two year old was born premature and on a ventilator for days. They didn't think she would make it, but within 10 or so days she was home and getting strong. She's now a force to be reckoned with. I'm sure Aiden will be feeling 100% before you do. :)

Is RSV a virus?

Yeah, it's one of the most common respiratory viruses in infants and toddlers. Almost every kid gets it, but it usually is mild and seems like a cold, but it can sometimes cause bronchiolitis and pneumonia. Obviously Matt's boy has a more severe case.

Just saw this Matt - and wanted you to know that my wife and I are both wishing the best for you and your family.

Hang in there.

And another from us here in Aus. With two daughters of my own I can sense the anxiety. Im glad theres some improvement, hopefully the worst is over.

Just wait until you have stuff coming out of both ends simultaneously, and you have to try and figure out which end needs the toilet worse ;)

And don't worry so much about your boy. Sure, it is scary, but he'll pull through just fine. Keep the faith and stay positive. We have 5 kids, and have seen everything from being in Isolation Wards at age one or two, to a slit throat and bashed in head, to a high speed collision with a house that almost killed the boy, and left him in a coma for months. Being positive is the only thing that will get you through at a time like this.

UPDATE:

The boy is HOME!!!!! He is still breathing with a rasp, and is still puking a little (all the gunk he is coughing up), but he is home.

He sounds much better though. When I saw the bruise from the tiny IV in his hand, I almost started sobbing. When the nurse took out his IV and unwrapped the tape from his hand, he looked at his fingers as he flexed them, as if to say, "Hey cool, my right hand back".

My brother Bubby visited him, and Aiden showed him one of his new books, going page by page, with his only working hand at the time. He really is something.

I am very much relieved, but, am now checking on him even more than usual, which is something.

My son is home.

Thanks Jim. I cant sleep at all, I keep peeking my head in on him and adjusting his blanket.

Poor little bugger just woke up, ad now it's bottle time. Woot!
