Some good suggestions so far folks. The issue you end up having with some of the requests though is that you end up getting burned for it.
Like this request from Morgan. People tend to watch things out of context, so when you do something like this, it spurs on a "oh look at that lighting, why didn't they get that right" or "wow Ive seen some crap shots from this camera". There's simply no win in it for me or Panasonic if I were to do so. Understand that online people often won't read, or will watch something no sound. They will then happily say those things to anyone with a pair of ears. I can really appreciate what you're asking for here Morgan, but doing so can be full of pitfalls.

I think we'll see plenty of the camera at its best via the official Panasonic videos. Not trying to capture crappy footage, trying to capture the best footage possible in crappy situations... which is about 90% of what I get paid to do, and why cameras with better DR, high ISO, EIS, etc. actually have value. If I could work in perfectly controlled studio environments with unlimited time, then a GH5 + External Recorder would be largely suffice (save for a few features) because extra DR, EIS, high ISO, etc. would lose much of it's value as it could merely be compensated for with time and other equipment.
I just want to see the camera perform as I'll actually use it... not just on a dolly with thousands of dollars of lights and a 4+ person crew producing perfectly crafted images with plenty of time to work. That footage is still of high value to compare apples to apples with other cameras at their best, but more "real world" scenarios for run & gun solo operators is of equally high value.
Most certainly not an attempt to disrespect the camera! I think the camera is geared to excel at the things being requested better than almost anything else on the market... which is exactly why I am so interested in it!!

Password protect it for DVXusers. Label it torture test. Preface the video and shots with a disclaimer, even a text overlay. Mix it in with some shots of the camera at it's best. I think there are a lot of solutions here, and I don't think the target market for this camera at this price point is so foolish to judge quickly as anyone spending $7k on a video camera has some level of knowledge. My thought is that it is actually going to IMPRESS in context. In my eyes the priority should be showing the camera's capabilities as they truly are to the customers. Besides, better to see challenging situations shot well from a pro now then challenging situations shot terribly from an amateur within two weeks of launch, as will inevitably happen.
Morgan nailed it I think - associated commentary is everything. Include it with some of your best/stunning clips too.
Just my 2 cents, I think it would be immensely helpful to many here, but do what you will!

What's the rush? The camera is due end of October which means December let other people buy it first and two months later when all bugs are fixed you can buy it if it lives up to expectations.
Really? Does your reel contain bad lighting, poor composition, lousy sound or music? Or do you try to impress clients with your best work?
No company is going to produce crap to try to sell their product. Do you not understand that?

Is Noel a company? I didn't ask Panasonic to produce crap. I didn't ask Noel to produce crap either. I asked a neutral source to demo the camera to show how it can handle in a number of everyday scenarios, like a lot of people here echoed.
If all that can be produced pre-launch is perfectly shot/lit footage that showcase resolving detail or skin tone color, you could probably just toss it in here: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthrea...-Count-(by-Steve-Yedlin-ASC)&highlight=yedlin -- at a certain point, it's all the same.
I didn't think asking to see demo'ing of DR, EIS, ISO performance, high frame rate mode of the EVA-1 on it's internal codec -- all of which are key selling features on the camera -- was too much to ask... but pardon my ignorance!!

It would be helpful for me to see some HD footage from the camera that hasn't been downsampled from 4k.
If I can be very specific I'd like to see a blonde heavily backlit to see how the HD footage handles the highlights.

I don't think people are asking for crap footage. There are several cameras that would still make good images under the conditions asked here. Such as the Alexa, F35, F65 etc. While nobody is expecting the EVA1 to be like these super high end cameras, I think people just want to see where it falls and how it places. I don't think any of the requests are unreasonable. People just want to see the EVA1 without the lipstick. Any camera today can make good images under controlled conditions and playing to its strengths. So what is the point of seeing just that type of shooting?
This especially applies to those who might have upcoming projects and are contemplating purchasing a new camera with the deadline approaching.

14 stops of very usable dynamic range. So yes to your questions. When you typed "look" did you mean "Vlog"? EVA1 includes Vlog and Gamut to utilize the full dynamic range and match grading with the VariCam cameras.

I understand why people are asking for the type of footage being requested in this thread. Please understand that while we chose a few purposefully-challenging situations in our sample films, the kind of video that you are all asking for is best produced by someone like Noel, Newshooter, or one of the other blogs or enthusiasts. Coming from Panasonic it would likely be both misinterpreted as well as not trusted. When it comes to technical tests I rarely trust any of them and find that I always wish to do them myself. I find that the settings and choices of others rarely correspond to my own, and so the tests are unsatisfactory for my purposes. Panasonic will be working to have cameras available at dealers throughout the world. I suggest you test for yourself to be sure.
