damn I'm an airbrushing fool, but thats just two eyes, part of a nose and a mouth... who approves this crap?
Not much for AJ here, either. She was cute in Hackers, but like high-school girl cute, which makes it kind of creepy for someone my age to like her....

If I were to venture a guess on the Salt poster... I think they wanted her to look different... not necessarily as hot as normal... for a couple reasons... tabloid photos/issues, etc. and you guys all know Salt was originally going to be a guy, right?
I've got a friend that's a fashion photog. He's sent me some pics of girls that are freakishly beautiful... and tells me they probably won't make it because they're actually so drop-dead gorgeous that nobody ever looks at the clothes they're wearing... so they don't sell the product as well.
I think they wanted to move away from the Lara Croft thing for this film... maybe it says they're more serious about the story then the eye candy this time? Just a theory... because yes of course, we've all seen better (hotter) pics of AJ... even though she's still gorgeous on that poster it doesn't totally look like her... and I think that was intentional.

Not just any guy, but Charles Bronson, who starred in the original made-for-tv movie (Telefon, 1980-something-or-other) upon which Salt sure looks to be based...
I would bet good money that Julia Roberts had final approval of that image.
Some people (especially women) do not know when to stop tinkering with images of themselves.
I have been absolutely shocked by some of the touch-up work people have requested me to do on photos.
Yes, crow's feet and smile lines can be ugly, but you don't need them to be completely gone to have an attractive photograph.
Sheesh. Some of those images are so ridiculous they've got to be intentional.
