Marlon and I are shooting with the same HD camera - the Canon XH A1. Mine was shot with the cameras own lense which is why the subject is so crisp.

Canon XH-A1 with Redrock M2 35mm adapter.

so with a 35mm you typically get blurriness. i guess ill have to get used to that. but im sure good lighting will also help out

Good lighiting will help anything. Generally speaking though you should still be able to get good focus on your subject such as Marlons grab.

Shoot through filters. a light 1/3 stop ND grad filter and a #85. but first manually white balance on something thats kinda yellowish, like if you mixed a dab of yellow paint into white paint, and painted a card, this way your whites will read as blueish. the 85 filter will correct some of that blue, and add a real nice warm gold tint tothe footage.

also try the Color temp setting inthe HVX/DVX to fine tune it. The color phase setting can push the green bias up a bit, too make it look more natural, as opposed to jsut yellow.

Try it out.

This is the 'yellow look' I used in a film I'm doing now. Used "Mexicalli" in Magic Bullet...

thats what im looking for lake films. i still need to pull a great focus first on my dvx100b. using m2 adapter. i have to figure out whats wrong first. thanks for all your help though. i really appreciate it.

will using the hd achromat on a dvx m2 help out with resolution. could that be a problem.

hey i think what would help is if you have a higher contrast in your lighting on set. if the image is washed out or muddy, color correction can only do so much. You gotta make those CCD chips work for their money.
