Yay another newbie 550d music video :-)

Hi cats, i'm still kinda new around these parts so I hope you dont mind me asking for your opinion on my new music video.

My friend did the camerawork as i'm the dj but knew what I wanted so the edit wasn't too hard, I think he did a great job :-)

I like the contrast on the black and white. And its really sharp. Did you use the monochrome picture style or something else? Good stuff man.
 
Thanks holmie, yeah I used the Monochrome setting as I knew if I shot colour i'd grow too fond of it and end up mixing and matching lol
 
I like it. Has a nice look and the song sounds great. I don't really have many notes.
The intro is a little long. :40 is a long time to wait to see if you will even like the group so this is really an issue with people who don't know you guys. Think about the first :30 as a chance to grab new fans.
The locked off shots don't look near as good as the handhelds. The locations are gritty and rough and I feel the camera technique should match. That being said, I think the angles look fantastic and really take advantage of the environment.
I think the song could be shortened as well. It feels long at 5:45 and I think you could easily trim :60 off. (I'm a music producer/engineer moving into video)

Great work. Bring us some more videos.
 
I completely agree GhettoDuk, I guess vanity took over in the edit for me as its my track/song too.
I should of cut that intro in half.

Are you going to make videos of your own work/productions?
