GH4 YAGH related additional costs.

Basically Im interested what additional costs will come with the YAGH to use it properly. (except for XLR mics and a monitor)?
What kind of a power source it needs?
What kind of an external recorder for 10bit ?

etc..
Or should I just wait for Atomos 1995 dollar 4K recorder? Since it could make YAGH irrelevant.

I don't think the Shogun has any audio features at all whereas the YAGH has 2 monoaural XLR outputs for line level and condenser microphones. Additionally, the Shogun is a monitor/recorder at it's heart whereas the YAGH is an interface w/4K recording capabilities that has the ability to output what's being recorded to a monitor.

It sounds like you'd pick up a kit that is: Shogun + Juicedlink Preamp/Field Mixer + Recorder
...and if you opted for the YAGH, you would need a monitor of some kind and you would have the same functionality as above. Note, these two lists disregard the quality of any of the gear (for instance, I'm not sure of the audio quality components inside the YAGH/GH4, but I'd assume a separate recorder/mixer would do a better job). But, I believe those two kits would give you the same functionality at the expense of maybe quality.

Actually the Shogun does have audio features!

Input is from a Lemo breakout cable.

Balanced XLR Mic/line with Phantom power available. As well as 2 channel balanced output. With on-screen monitoring of 8 digital and 2 analog channels. As well as headphone out.

Doh, this is why you don't rush through spec sheets to be the first to comment. My mistake. Seems like this little guy is an all-around killer. Although I doubt it's audio capabilities will replace having a recorder/mixer for most people. But, we'll wait and see!

...and you still need a recorder with the YAGH. Those who can live with HDMI- based recorders/monitors and external audio could possibly skip it altogether for the extra $2k.

That said, if the audio quality of the YAGH is good, you essentially get a high-frame rate 4K camera with pro audio and SDI for under $4k, which ain't bad if you're good with the GH4's image and dynamic range.
