GH4 YAGH audio delay with GH4

I'm shooting some test footage with my GH4 and YAGH interface unit. I have 2 XLR mics plugged into the YAGH. The levels are coming through, but there is a ~half-second delay. Any setting to fix this?
Thanks!
Andrew

What would you suggest? I'm beginning to think this YAGH is not for me. Should I just shoot double system with my Zoom H4N?
There is also a bad echo that gets recorded with the YAGH.

1/2 second latency? That seems ridiculous..especially for the price of that inelegant OEM box. Have you contacted tech support? Maybe a setting in cam to mate properly with external YAGH?

Just called B&H. Gonna send it back. Neither their tech support nor Panasonic's had any idea how to deal with this.

I'm not using the HDMI port though. Not sure I understand...

The HDMI port out from the camera feeds audio & video out to the YAGH for monitoring.
Any time you plug into the HDMI port, you loose the ability for real time audio monitoring as a selectable menu item.

I'm all set to return this unit unless I can solve it. Has anybody else experience a sort of reverb getting recorded to the SD card when using the YAGH? This happens whether I'm recording to the on-camera mic or to the XLR inputs on the YAGH.
Thanks again.

Hmm, just from playback in my camera now that you mention it. I'll try again and see if it transfers to my computer. It's still annoying though. I'll report back with anything new.

The echo you are hearing is the audio realtime from the source on set, bleeding into your headphones where you are monitoring the delayed audio from the camera. It is not the YAGH. The problem lies with the GH4.

FWIW, aside from the YAGH box, the base GH4 has the option of monitoring "live" or the actual recorded audio (i.e. confidence monitoring) Monitoring the recorded audio would add to the usual analog to digital latency issue.

Once you plug an HDMI monitor into the HDMI port live monitoring becomes unselectable as a menu item.

Hmmm...
So because the image is pulled off the sensor at cam and A to D of audio using YAGH is done at "brick", video is also processed there and all is muxed together for output or recording to cam...negating "live" monitoring. Uh...firmware upgradable kludge? Or is this really one of those problems that makes Jan glad she bailed ;)
