Xtreme Mac

Well, I tend to move to new picture profiles all the time. I do not remember exactly what I was using for this. All I know, is that I didn't like it, mainly because skin was just a little too red. I have conquered the red skin issue and have a go to a new profile now.

I had nothing to do with the edit or grade.

I do not believe that there is one "do it all" profile with the FS100. I do however have a starting point of sorts. I adjust for each shooting situation. I have found the camera to be very finicky, it's not a turn on and shoot camera in my eyes. You can't have the DSLR mentality with the fs, you'll screw yourself if you do.

This is the last profile I used on a short film. It fit the color temps we had to work with, lighting setups, etc. It may look like junk if you try to use it. I think a lot of people are in search of this "Magic" profile that works for everything. I don't think that exists. Figure out your own profiles, you'll be much happier.

Black level +10 (Changes)
Gamma Cinetone 1 (Changes)
Black Gamma High +7 (Changes)

Color Level -3 (Changes)
Color Phase (This never stays at one spot, ever)
Color Depth +6 0 +4 +4 +4 +5 (Changes)
WB Shift (Always changing)
Detail +3 (Changes)

Yes the fact that it's so "finicky" is a real problem for me. I have a trained eye for composition etc but I'm not great at the technicalities of tweaking picture profiles.

I just want to shoot! But I guess it's forcing me to think more technically about settings etc

Next step is learning how to grade properly.

Ah, it's like music to my ears, this is what I love about the camera, not just any yuppie can pick it up and get a good image *I may be the exception to the clause, but it's so much more rewarding when you have a finished project that you feel you actually had a good hand in achieving, rather than have a camera manufacturer take the fun out of it and make you feel like a robot, The FS challanges me and has made me have such a better understanding and respect for the art, live long and prosper you beautiful piece of technology!
