XL2 + Wireless lav kit

Hi, I recently purchased a Sennheiser G2 wireless lav kit. I noticed that the mic on the XL2 takes up 2 channels because it is a stereo mic. Im wondering if anyone would know if its possible to put the onboard mic on channel 1 only and use the lav on channel 2? And also how it would be done. The reason i want them on 2 channels only is because Premiere CS3 only imports 2 channels at a time and having to capture everything again would slow down my workflow by 100%.

I'm in Colombia S.A. at the moment so don't have my manual on me, however, I'm needing to figure this out as well and will post back when I figure it out (hopefully end of this week).

On the audio selection select front mike to CH-1 front and the Sennheiser wireless on to CH-2 rear.. That's it.. That will give you each mike on it's own track.
 
Winston can you give me more details on what you are talking about? Like the audio selection in the menu? Or the selection on the side of the camera?
 
Ok, had a bit of time to play today so here is how you do it.

1) I have the top input select for audio 2 set to rear
2) I have the XLR for the wireless plugged into the 2/4 side (right side)
3) bottom input select is set to front mic.
4) go into the menu for sound and change the audio mode to 12bit ch1/2 3/4
5) press the Audio Monitor button beside your wheel until it reads ch1/2>mix>ch3/4

This will allow you to monitor both channels with your headset.

Thats it, now I have audio in my left ear and right ear, each coming from a different mic system. I also set my controls to manual so that I could set the gain manually instead of letting the camera do it as it gets a bit crazy on its own.

Wanted to add one more thing. Depending on your capture program, I use Final Cut Pro, you may have to actually capture twice. The reason is that most do not capture 4 audio tracks at once. They'll mix them down into a single but in most cases that isn't what you want either.

So just be aware that chances are pretty good that when you read the tape in, you won't be seeing 4 audio tracks.
