also need more like just like on the DVX? Sometimes I need to use autofocus in progressive modes and also shoot in low light so this would be in an issue.
The XL2's autofocus works just like the DVX's does, or any 24P camera's would -- slower in 30p, slowest in 24p.
Autofocus works better the more light you have, and worse the less light you have. So if you want to use autofocus in 24p mode in dark conditions, it simply isn't going to work, no matter what camera you use.
And, progressive-scan systems are usually half as light-sensitive as interlaced-scan systems. You'll get 1-stop better low-light performance from interlaced mode.
So what you're asking is the most difficult thing to provide: good low-light progressive-scan autofocus performance. You're likely to be disappointed.
