XL2 Moire Pattern

I just got an XL2 and I’m trying to decide if it needs to be shipped to the service center. On most of the footage I shoot, I’m getting a “moiré” pattern. I’ve read posts saying this is normal – but I’ve also read reports that some cameras are worse than others.

Has anyone else experienced this on their XL2 cameras? Is there a way to remove it?
 
..i dont have an XL2 but that looks like plain ol standard moire to me. i would think that would happen with almost any camera that cant properly resolve those thin lines patterned like that. i wouldnt expect it to be specific to the Xl2 or just your xl2 but i would expect about any vid camera i pointed at that to do the same. perhaps a HD cam would fair better .. but thats besides the point. i dont think theres anything wrong with your cam.. i think your just now discovering that moire can be a problem with about any vid camera and any pattern similar in nature to that bricj pattern. i can practically promise you.. the DVX would do the same as would anyone elses XL2.
