I'm just watching the beginning of the Octopussy. Was it made with an XL2 frame mode? It looks like. Same colors, sharpness. They didn't know what a filmlook should be or it is just one of the many filmlooks?

Re: XL2 - James Bond - Octopussy

The original Octopussy? From 1983? They didn't even have ANY prosumer cameras back then. I'm sure it was film, those movies have always had large budgets.

Re: XL2 - James Bond - Octopussy

What is your question? Octopussy came out in 1983, what does it have to do with the XL2?

Re: XL2 - James Bond - Octopussy

You didn't get it, do you? It looks like XL2, which isn't any filmlook, right? It has nothing to do with miniDV. It was made with filmcameras. But it has more sharpness than a regular film, the color isn't oversaturated and different than your DVX's colors, they used litle of shallow focus.
So WTF is your filmlook?

Re: XL2 - James Bond - Octopussy

My aunt said to me that the first superman was done with the prototype of the xl2 ;D

Re: XL2 - James Bond - Octopussy

Re: XL2 - James Bond - Octopussy

My sources tell me that it was, in fact, shot with an XL2 back in 1983.

My favs are:

The Spy Who Loved Me
Thunderball
For Your Eyes Only

Bond films: great action, great songs, great women. The last two films have gone really over the top though. Id like to see it brought down into a more plausible reality.
