Since the software that comes with the Canon XL2 is Windows user oriented, I wonder does this mean that you can't even capture footage with a Mac? Also, I've read about some troubleshooting with XL2 camera that capture on external firewire Lacie drives.
If you are talking about capturing footage off a tape shot with an XL2, a mac can do that. If you are talking about capturing direct to the hard drive then as far as I know the Canon Console and other similar programs are PC based, but I haven't looked into them lately so my info may be out dated.
