XL2 and professional view finder

I'm wondering if anyone has actually purchased the $1200 professional viewfinder for the XL2? I would really like a better way to focus and manually drive the camera but the fact that you loose the ability to judge white balance and color settings seems a bit limiting. Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on it.

Oh, and of course the $1200 price tag is a bit much too.. :)

I also thought of that, but eventually ended up using the standard EFV. What I now do is to shoot mostly at 75% zoom or less. It gives me the scope to zoom in to 100% on the subject, focus and zoom 25% out. This way, I'm assured that focus will be sharp.
