Xha1s sound/ tape deck

Hey guys

jus picked up an xha1s new from b&h. Is it normal for the camera to make a thump/spring sounding thud when powering down

also has anyone noticed that the tape door could get caught on the tape shuttle? I made the mistake of having my tape door closed a little while the tape was receding into the camera and it got caught for a few seconds, would this have any damage? Sorry I'm just paranoid of my new baby

Paranoid? we all are with a new cam. :shocked: There's a few things to be aware of. The thud sound could be the OIS stabilising itself when powering down.

ALWAYS let the tape load properly before you close the lid. Run a cleaner tape as per instructions before your first recording. This removes any possible factory gunk from the heads.
