xha1s club settings?

hey guys

i might be shooting a promo at a club/dance party with strobes, dark ect... i plan on mounting an LED light on the camera so that should provide light... although i dont want a washed out look, saturated colors.. what are the camera settings, custom presents, shutter and F stop that would be appropriate for this venue?

You're probably gonna have to go all the way open for the iris for this one. I'd probably have the gain switch set for the factory default, 0, 6, and 12 dBs, and use them accordingly. I wouldn't go over 12 though. If you can shoot in 24F, do so. This will allow for a slightly slower shutter speed. I believe there is a low light custom preset as well, check the official thread. Try not to underexpose either. I know that's hard when it's really dark to begin with, but that will cause noise.

I just had to shoot a news story for my school about this 6 hr long dance that was on Friday, using only an on-camera light (there were no lights other than on the stage), as well as being forced to use 60i since it was in a show, and therefore being forced to use 1/60 for the shutter speed. It came out looking pretty good for just about all of the shots I got, but then again, this was for news - looking good wasn't a top priority. There were definitely some that had considerable amounts of noise.
