XHA1 to compressor PAR issues...

Hey everyone,

I'm having issues exporting w/ the correct Pixel Aspect Ratio w/ my XHA1 clips...

I imported them using the Apple Intermediate Codec at 60i...

Every time I do a normal export, the picture is skewed and stretched outward (making everyone look really wide).

Can someone please explain to me what PAR I should put in there? From what I understand the resolution is at 1440 x 1080.

HDV native video has a resolution of 1440x1080 with a PAR of 1.33 (I think, but I get the number confused with that of SD DV).

What matters in your situation is what the Apple intermediate codec does with it. It sounds like it want to take the native HDV res and map it across 1920 horizontal resolution with a PAR of 1. My first guess is that you should specify the horizontal res at 1920 instead of 1440.

I can't give you specifics as I'm a PC guy. Perhaps someone with actual experience with this codec can give you a better answer.
 
I'm exporting as a 720x1280 for vimeo. I just need to know what the PAR should be set at to keep the aspect ratio.
