How can I permanently have date and time on a DV tape -- so it will be on the DVD when I burn via iMovie in my powerbook? And How can I keep the camcorder from going to "power off" mode after a few minutes?

To keep it from powering off just hit eject and let the tape sit there so you can re-close the mechanism when you want to record

I don't recommend this because it'll put stress on your tape drive, allows more dust to get inside and increases the chance of the camera "swallowing" your tape.

To prevent it from powering off go into Menu ->Customize-Customize Functions and turn off Power Save (option 16).
