XH-A1 price drop?

Hi folks....Was pricing out a second A-1 camera today and found that there is a price drop, plus the $250 rebate is still in effect till December 31st. I was quoted $3299 for the camera and then I could send in for the rebate. That would bring the camera down to $3049! When I see price drops in just a few months, my experience tells me that Canon is probably coming out with a new model soon. Does that sound right?

Hi Steve. I wouldnt think so. The A1 is only a bit over a year old. Probably got another 12 - 18 months
 
yes right now you can get a new A1 for around $2988 after rebate, which ends in a few days, which was originally extended from the previous rebate offer. The interesting part is will Canon further extend this or even add to it? If they dont have something new to offer they will make a greater incentive or keep what they have going, even when everyone is looking at the EX and Panasonic offering free 16gb cards, imagine what you can buy with the $4000 price difference.
