XH A1 LCD viewer

I am wondering if there is an external LCD screen, maybe 5", that I can connect via the flash hot shoe on the XH A1. The Canon's viewer provided is the only drawback I can find to a great product. I have just purchased the unit and film sporting events etc that I find requires a far larger viewing area.

If anyone has any ideas and sources for a larger viewer i would love to hear about it.

Nebtek has a few options.

You can spend 400 and get a larger viewfinder, but it wont help you much with focus and color. For that you will have to get a high quality monitor closer to a grand.

Thanks Onyx, NEB 51 lithium seems to be the go. Not too worried about HD quality just maintaining frame position.

I went the cheap route and just use an 8inch portable dvd player

i should just say... i was thinking going the cheap route but then i ended up getting a Marshall (which is not cheap).

next to my camera, my Marshall is the most valuable tool i have. it really is amazing for focus, but more importantly it gives accurate colors and lighting. the LCD is very "optimistic" in my opinion. It looks my sharper and more saturated than my raw footage in my opinion. The Marshall shows what I will actually end up with on my computer. Your milage may vary.
