XH-A1 - Best Wide Angle ??

Anyone know the best wide angle to put on the XHA1? I absolutely LOVE the long lens capability but in close quarters it's bit to be desired.

Here's a couple I've been studying but concerned that 0.8X is not that much of an improvement:

Canon

Century Optics

Cavision

Any experiences with the above or something better would be great and I look forward to hearing others results and/or suggestions.

Please note that I want NO VIGNETTING from full wide to full zoom . . "0" tolerance for vignetting.

I'd suggest the canon. SHARP edge to edge, great optics, very low light loss (if any), and its fully zoom through. Can go full telephoto with no problems.

Only downside is the weight.

There's other things like the Red Eye adapter or 16x9 brand but the thing is they aren't fully zoom through. I needed something that I could keep on at all times and have full flexibility. The Canon satisfied all my needs. I felt the wide angle was perfect amount too with not much distortion.

So "Humanoid Typhoon" is the Canon 0.8x that much wider? I mean, I'd actually prefer the Canon if for no other reason than I believe that the image quality of this camera is in a large part due to the Canon lenses in it and thus would suspect that a Canon lens would be the best by far anyway. But I just don't want to dump a bunch of money in it if there isn't a decent width improvement.

It's wide enough for me. I can shoot a cake cutting from about 3 feet away and get everything I need. If you need absolute image quality and FULL zoom through capability, the Canon is your only choice. At full wide with the adapter the range is roughly 26mm length in 35mm range. That's pretty wide without distortion.

That's plenty and sounds like a winner. I was looking at the "Items Included" at B&H and it looks like maybe the thing comes with a hood. Is this the package that actually makes the camera look really great when mounted? That is, it is a lens, lens cover, and mounted hood? That is . . this one . .

If so, this is one I think I've seen before and loved it. Looked quite HOT for camera looks.

It does come with a hood (which doesn't do a whole lot to shield out side lighting). You're probably thinking of a mattebox.

You won't regret getting the Canon...unless you have small arms ;).
