XF300 Price

Hey,

So this is just purely speculation and people are free to chime in, but anyone know if the XF300 will ever drop in price? It's currently selling for $300 under MSRP. I know XH-A1S is just about end of life already but that one was also considerably lower than MSRP even before than. I'd love to get one to compliment the 60D but the price is just too much for me to justify for a part-time hobby/job
 
It likely won't drop below the current price for quite some time. Canon just isn't known for steady price cuts on their pro and prosumer line of camcorders - at least, until the product life is up and they are replaced with a more technologically current line-up. The XF300/305 series is still Canon's flagship HD camcorder and has only been on the market for about a year and a half. Even the $300 price cut is a bit surprising to me - I wouldn't count on another in the foreseeable future.
 
Didn't think so =(
Even if they make minor upgrades and make an XF300S, I'd be willing to bet that one would be priced above the current lineup
