XF300 and a 35mm adaptor

My friend (who's probably on this forum... somewhere) told me to post the footage we shot today. Just some random shots of the neighborhood. Oh yes, disclaimer: The adapter died mid-shooting; ran outta power. D:
And yes Youtube screws up quality too.

what adapter and what tamron, and why not use vimeo or another higher quality vid host svc?

looks no better than a dvx with a letus economy, clearly due to youtube compression, but the 3rd party lens could also be to blame as well as the 35mm adapter. more specs please.

Alright it was me.
Specs:

Nikon 50mm F/1.8 and a Tamaron 28-70 f/3.5

it's a brevis adapter MP.2

Ken, please put this up on vimeo with higher quality.

thank you for the clarification. ive been waiting to see 300 footage with a 35mm adapter, i just wanted full specs. im also viewing on a slow connection and a small netbook.

any chance youll shed light on shutter speeds, ISO equivalents, editing, and maybe how you feel the brevis treated your stock XF300 footage?

i know the Letus Extreme does soften footage on my two XH A1 units, do you think the brevis does the XF justice? i only watched the 720P footage which was youtube. youtube tends to kill my XH A1/Letus/(FD/Nikkor) footage; im not blaming gear.

do you have a direct link to unmolested footage?

Thanks!

I can answer a couple of that. (I'm the XF owner, Studio595's got the Brevis)

Today we shot at 1/48 shutter speed, White balance is at 4800 Kelvin, aperture at ~2.2. ISO equivalant?

Brevis+XF footage way outshines normal XF footage. IMHO, it also fixes a strange warped lens feel that the XF comes with standard.

Color aberrations were present when we tested this outside and inside.

I have the raw .mxf files, if you meant unmolested footage as that. I don't know how I can upload that directly to any video sharing site; given too that I have slow connections too.

And yes, Youtube kills everything.

1/48 f2.2 plus brevis should be mid ISO's, in the useable range. i did not see any noise, i just wanted a base ISO/gain rating for future comparisons.

id love to see 1/48 f4 or f5.6 (XF300) and various 35mm lens apertures for sharpness/DOF comparisons if possible. footage looks damn good really, better than my XH A1/LEX/Canon FD shots, but they are 1440x1080 24F/30F/60i and the 24F kills vertical res, while 60i kills overall res.

frankly youtube is horrid for HD if not SD. i try to download unedited clips. would you be able to post even a 5-10 second segment somewhere as an .mxf file?
