XA10 case noise

I asked this question over at dvinfo and nobody there has this problem so I'm asking here.

I bought an XA10 from Amazon and it has a creaking case whenever it is flexed in any way. It's mostly coming from the right side and bottom plastic panels.

.

Amazon sent me an advance replacement and it makes the same noises. It sounds like their is a small gap in the plastic pieces and a medium amount of pressure results in a very loud noise that gets picked up by the mics. I've tried adjusting all my rigs, the handling of it and mic settings but none of it has eliminated or even reduced the noise.

I've contacted Canon support and showed them the video and they don't know what the problem is and want me to send it back to them.

If you've had this issue and solved it or have any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Cheers

Just to close this loop. I've come to the conclusion, as verified from a couple users, that the case does indeed make a noise. The crunching in my video was from the internal mic on Auto audio gain mode so it was cranked all the way up. I've decided to keep the camera and get better at handling it so the noise becomes less of an issue. It still makes noise in a couple situations (shoulder rig, holding from the bottom, rattling handle when on rough roads like on a skateboard) but it's issues I think I can workaround by using external audio or not using the audio at all and replace with music. Cheers

I have the less expensive consumer version of this camera, the Vixia HF G10. I got it earlier this year to replace an old SD Sony that I had.

I've not noticed any creaking noise in several months of usage. These tests you show all look very unnatural to me. The camcorder is so compact and lightweight, that I hardly have to grip mine at all.

However, my HF G10 does not have the XLR handle that your XA10 has. Other than your issue when holding the camera by the handle while skateboarding, I just don't see this being a problem in real world shooting.

It is a super easy camcorder to use. I've had loads of fun with mine this year.
