Hey guys

I've finally picked up a proper monitor for grading work and an X-Rite i1 Display Pro for calibration. I've been digging around YouTube for tutorial videos and they're all aimed at photography work flows.

I've figured out how to work with their Rec709, 2020, etc. presets but just curious if anyone has any particular advice, or video-centric resources that are worth taking a look at?

I'm working with a C300 MKII and shooting either C-Log 2 or 3 for what it's worth.

Hey man. It's a deep/technical topic to explore. I'm not an expert. I bought an Eizo CX271 after reading this article: http://www.jasonmyres.com/using-the-eizo-cx271-as-a-color-accurate-grading-monitor

Spent hours learning. Ended up with an ok calibration, but definitely not super professional. Now I use a Flanders Scientific and send it away to be calibrated by the company. Not that I wouldn't love to be more skilled in this area, but there are only so many hours in the day.

There's a lot to be learned by reading in the liftgammagain forum. Some very smart people there share solid technical knowledge. You can also go over to lightillusion and read some of the guides. Here's a link to a basic guide to get started: http://www.lightillusion.com/manual_calibration_idiots_guide.html

Thanks for the info! Will look into this. It is a black hole for sure. I'm not looking to be an expert and the equipment I have is at the low end of the professional spectrum. But having a basic, predictable workflow in place would be great.
