This is a chance given to you by Luck goddess, to quit using IE. Try using Opera (free) instead; it's the best browser (better than firefox IMO). http://www.opera.com

there is a parsing error on line 3 of the main page that will throw an error in every single browser.. but its a simple parsing error that most browsers will just ignore unless you really have a tight ass browser security setup.

can you modify your post so the title doesnt say Red.com Shuts down.. i think you gave a crapload of people a heart attach ha ha ha.

I don't know what a parsing error is, and my settings are fine, hope that they fix it if it is something that needs fixing, otherwize I am curently out of their site for good !

Andreas,
if you want to look at the red.com site in the meantime, here's one of the most simple and unobtrusive, self-contained webrowsers available:
http://offbyone.com/offbyone/
It won't change any of your computer settings, or any such, and probably won't display the red.com pages in their true way, but it will allow you to view all the content.

Of course, there's also Firefox, and Opera...

Opera won’t mess with your system either and it can co-exist with IE etc without problems. Also it can display RED as it is, without any errors.

I wouldn’t post this but since this browser thread is continued, these are the main reasons I prefer/suggest Opera:

1. IE is targeted on a permanent basis by hackers, adware and spyware software, etc and because of this they have a deeper knowledge of its weaknesses and the way it functions and can take control, spy your PC or introduce problems easier.

2. IE does not allow you to access and control its features in a convenient and precise way, so you tend to do nothing about it, decreasing security.

3. With Opera, after any internet transactions (with credit cards etc) with only 3 clicks I can delete all my private data (Tools/Delete private data/Delete[or cancel or choose what to delete as default]) including cookies, cache, passwords, history etc so no hacker, site admin.or anyone can find that information on my PC.

4. For un-trusted websites with only two clicks I can enable/disable either Java, JavaScript, plug-ins, pop-ups, proxy servers et, even “Site Preferences” adjusting its behavior for some sites if you wish, for safer surfing.

5. By just pressing F11 you can enjoy web surfing Full screen, taking advantage of each inch (actually each millimeter) of your screen without any menus. In that mode you can change opera opened sites (tabs) with 1,2 keys, Back/Forward with Z,X or your mouse assigned buttons etc.

6. With F4 you can show/hide the very convenient left panel that you can use to see, organize add etc very fast and easily bookmarks in a tree-like folders, history, your emails the current page’s links etc.

7. You can store some frequent bookmarks on the upper-bar if you wish for even faster access.

8. Very convenient “find in page” function and generally very fast browser operation.

There are many other features and some newer ones I haven’t used like widget support, voice, skins, with one click you can emulate a simpler mode, even a text browser etc.

Opera is NOT perfect, but still is the best. If you test it for a week to get accustom with it and adjust it to your needs, you won’t go back. Of course at any time, you can switch to IE for a specific poor-made IE-only site (rarely) without any problems.

P.S: No, I won’t get paid for this post! :)
