Wtf? Awful looking film in theaters!?

I suspect it's a video storyboard - an off-location practice run only.
Still doesn't bode well for the final product as the acting isn't very pro (nor much else).

try contacting the filmmaker....how hard can it be. tell him you're a journalist and interview him. then come back here and post it asap.

There is no way that is real. Nope.

The "video storyboard" thing mentioned above has got to be what it is. That would explain everything, including the terrible acting, and even the visual effects. The effects are only reference effects. They have to be. Please?

Does Apple do things like April Fools Jokes?

My thoughts exactly.

It's too bad to be anything... at all. Not even a good joke.

The framing of the shot with the ceiling fan and other vent on the ceiling... there's no way in hell that any cinematographer or DP on the planet is that dumb.

If sh*t is revolutionary then that film is brilliant.

If it was a video storyboard, then why is it posted on Apple's trailer site? Shouldn't the trailer consist of actual shots and audio from the real version of the film? Unless it is a teaser, which I can't fathom why anyone would release this as their teaser trailer. Does Apple let anybody post trailers now?

The only type of film I could remotely see having an early trailer that is made up of concept art, storyboards, or video storyboards would be an extremely highly anticipated studio film like Transformers 2 or Harry Potter. Even then, I doubt a high profile film going that route with their marketing.

Also, if this is a joke, it is not really funny but more WTF????? than anything else.

the last line was huge. "there's uhh...printers in the basement they can use." i can't believe noone has tapped into tech talk like this as a finisher for a trailer. i will be at that theater. or basement.

I think I have the answer, its the film within the film. "After Last Season" will be the story of an actor who plays the villain in a cheesy sci-if television show. He is in his own head the greatest actor the world has ever seen, but no one seems to know it.
After the conclusion of another dreadful season, where he faced some humiliation, he decides to take his thousands of dollars and make his own film where he could be the actor he was meant to be. And this films trailer is the one they are initially showing. Viral campaign.

The above is pure speculation.

I don't know how I missed this before, but the shot of the girl's back whre some kind of computer thing comes out of the wall is from 3D software called Poser. No one, but no one makes a movie with renders from poser, but they are used quite a bit for animatics. So it HAS to be some kind of reference video.

i hope.

Then why is it available for viewing on Apple.com as if it was a finished product?

Exactly. Even if it's a storyboard, why would you put it up on apple.com?

Also how do things get on apple.com? I'm assuming you pay for it? If that's so, then the guy that made this film spent too much money on advertising, and not enough on... anything else.

Or does apple.com choose what to show?

Has that preview actually been sumitted to and approved by the MPAA? I have a hard time believing that. (If it has, more power to 'em; but if not, that would seem to be a copyright infringement.)

Kudos to them. I think it's a giant waste of time and effort for an April Fool's joke. Alright, maybe time and not much effort.

i didnt get the impression by that comment that t is an april fools joke....besides, unless someone actually said "april fools", then we still dont know if this thing is legit or not

I wonder if it's just disguised as that but it's a bigger movie? But I'm LOLing pretty hard at the article. It strikes me funny, for some odd reason.

I like April Fools Jokes!!! They're fun to concoct.

Well, whatever this "After Last Season" trailer is trying to accomplish, I think it's doing it's job, real movie or not.
