WTB: Nikon specific lens: Aperature ring necessary

Correct, don't forget the appropriate sized gear. The focus doesn't come with them. I also don't think I would consider a follow focus a replacement for lens support. If the lens is heavy, it should be properly supported on the rails. The follow focus just barely contacts the lens via the gears and is off to the side, not directly under the lens.

Do you reckon I'm set with this package? Or am I missing anything essential? Matte box to come later, follow focus not essential yet, have tripod and monitor. Grateful for the help!

I have the Nikon 17-35mm, and highly recommend it - but I had mine cine-geared for use with a FF.

If you plan on buying the 28-70mm - and then ONLY lenses with aperture control rings - then save some money and get the Voigtlander adapter:

Can't speak to the Redrock baseplate - but I'll echo what others have said and say definitely get the Redrock Follow Focus Blue. Much better than the v2, only a little more money.

I also have (and like) the Redrock Micro Lens Support. A little more money than the SHAPE, but I like that it's cushioned. Probably will work out the same cost overall if you get the Voigtlander adapter.
