Wrong Frame Rate On Avid Import from FS100

I'm hoping someone here has the answer. I've been shooting for the last month on the HVX/FS100 at 720/24. Importing it into the Avid is a breeze. I can set it up as a 23.97 project. Suddenly, the Avid is only accepting the footage into a 720/59.97 project. The 24p is gone. The camera settings are 720/24.

Also have shot some stuff in VFR and can't get it to play the same.

Anyone using Avid/HVX/FS100 workflow?

Thanks!

If you shot it at 720/24p and not 720/24pn (24pn is native and only 24 frames per second are recorded), (24p is not native and means that your footage was shot at 60p with 24p flagged/ which means that you have redundant frames that you need to remove in order to get 24p). Avid will only let you open this footage in a 59.96 project. You will need to make Quick Time reference files for every single clip and then import them into a 23.976 project. It is a long process, but otherwise your stuck with 60p. I learned this leason the hard way.

That's a GREAT idea ! I shoot at 24pa onto P2 via a spx800 and can't get the P2 into an AVID 23.97 timeline (NTSC 16:9). So, I'll try your method but AVID will still refuse the NNTSC 16:9, and I'll have to fix the PAR in Vegas after done editing in AVID.
