About the video, as other have said, I thought it was very slick and professional.

I'm just not sure that's very interesting any more.

yah, i think it's overdone personally. nothing really stuck out to me. yes, it's professional, but how could it not be with the equipment and crew he had at hand.
 
I understand why some people get tired of hearing about matt, but if there are still comments, why lock it down? Obviously alot of people still have/had things to say about it. I dont want to tell you guys how to run things here though. Just my thoughts about it and id figure let them stay open if people are still posting unless it just gets vulgarly out of hand or something so where people might get hurt. Doesn't hurt anything other wise.
 
Hey All-
It may be true that some people are not to fond of Matt McDermitt (too bad, cause I'm younger than him and would hate it if people shunned me if I got successful) but I think the reason the last thread was closed was because it was like "Hey, Matt McDermitt made this new video. It looks nice" in the Cinematography forum. First of all, not to be a pain in the butt, however this same video was discussed in detail at least once here before and to begin a thread in a specific area vs. the Cafe that didn't really pose a specific question or comment is sort of the beginnings of a thread that is going to get completley off topic. I don't want to speak for John and the rest of the mods too much, and if he wants to say anything else I know he will.

Matt McDermitt used to use a DVX, and 0wned with it. He destroyed all with it. We all trembled in his presence when he use to be a member here. Then he bought an XL2. That was when the shunning partially began.

The story goes on from there....

That is some of the more blatant propaganda I have ever seen spun on this board. Absurd to even suggest that angle.

As far as the deal ? I closed the thread in question. It had already been posted 3 times in the last 2 weeks. There is an entire thread devoted to Matt and one of his videos going on as we speak in the Cafe; so if you folks would take a half second to look around the forum you'd see all of this hot air is moot.

There is no conspiracy. Some people are big fans of Matts work, some people respect and appreciate it, some people are not stoked, some people do not care.....

Get over it. The problem is when one of his fan club members catches wind of someone saying:

"It was okay. Nothing orginal"

Then all hell breaks loose about his age and experience and videos from the DVX and blah blah blah.

So enough with the panic and conspiracy. You'd think we lived in Nazi Germany.
 
Here's an idea, how about we post sixteen threads about Rich Lee's music video shot on the DVX? And even better, a week from now, we'll post sixteen more threads about Rich's video. And then a month from now, we'll get all the noobs to post sixteen threads about Rich's DVX music vid. Sound annoying?
