Re: WOW Look at this kids work!

:D It's re-launched. More appropriate file sizes. It has a much better design and features ALL of my recent work, including "Bring Me To Life." Making the video of "Uninvited" and "Bring Me To Life" are also online.

Thanks!

Re: WOW Look at this kids work!

just saw Matt's new site tonight. just found out his Bring Me To Life video was shot on a GL2!!! yeah, that just blew my mind. such a talented kid, its disgusting. =P

Re: WOW Look at this kids work!

Man Matt bad ass work man. Lived up to the hype and then some. The behind the scenes shows just how good you are.
Just some dude on the street with a camera but pumping out better shots then most.

The old adage "it's not the tools you have but how you use them" plays right into your work.

Re: WOW Look at this kids work!

:)

Ar well, i finally got of the fence and got 2 watch the footage, what can i say its Really good, but i do seem to feel that there may have been just s small amount of "over hype" it was diffintaley good but maybe not as "earth shuttering" as some may have made it sound.

I have recently seens some footage over at DVinfo made with a dvx100a and that was VERY nice, also at DVinfo a clip with DVX100 with mini35 plus lens and THAT was really good to.

And another clip with a Benz (Merc) car.

So all in all Matts work is great, but there are other great works too!

;D

Re: WOW Look at this kids work!

Those Got Milk trailers are pretty slick! The editing is top notch. Actually, most everything looks top notch. Except the acting... This is another one of those projects where the trailer is going to be better than the movie.

From what I gathered in the making of clips, the ugly ass XL-1 and maybe a Sony was used for filming. There wasn't a DVX to be seen.

Re: WOW Look at this kids work!

Finally looked over more of Matt's work. Primo stuff, no doubt. What can I say that hasn't been said?

As I get older, I tend less toward the dark, angsty stuff, but some some great imagery there.

Re: WOW Look at this kids work!

I know this thread can go without more posts, well really it shouldn't for how good the work is and how many questions I think weren't asked. I dont want to get all into your business Matt but :

1. What got you into filming ?
2. What is your favorite editing softwares? I see your using Vegas, but whatelse?
3. Where do you get the money for all of this? (Specially at your age)
4. Where do you currently live and how much do you charge for music videos? (Hip Hop if you would do it)
5. Want a partner ? (hehe)

But yeah anyway, I really loved the video. All of the videos, and cant wait to see more. Keep it up and good luck out there. Hopefully some day we will bump into each other and colaborate!

Re: WOW Look at this kids work!

That's what I wrote in my PM, brilliant work Matt!
Hope 2C some more from U! ;)

Re: WOW Look at this kids work!

1. What got you into filming ?

I looked into the viewfinder of my parents old 8mm camcorder when I was very young and saw myself. I was thrilled. Since that day, I have been with a camera, messing around and experimenting.

2. What is your favorite editing softwares? I see your using Vegas, but whatelse?

Vegas is my favorite piece of software to date, I also use After effects and Commotion Pro for image manipulation. I have yet to use Magic Bullet.

3. Where do you get the money for all of this? (Specially at your age)

At age 14, when I realized that I wanted to make films for a living, I started working at Mcdonald’s, full time, before earning enough for a 1 chip mini-DV camera. I made a 60 minute feature when I was 15, that won top honors at a local fest. With the award money, I purchased the GL2. I made “Bring Me To Life“, and was flown to Miami to compete as an Arts Week film finalist. I placed “Level One”, earning myself 3 grand; enough to pay for the DVX and some damage I had done to an actors car. This month, I find out if I get the 10,000 gold award! I am one of 2 film finalists nominated. If I do receive the $$ It will go towards living and my next feature.

4. Where do you currently live and how much do you charge for music videos? (Hip Hop if you would do it)

I live right outside of Boston, MA. My next video is for the indie artist Stevin Knight. I am offering my services for free, in the hopes that together we can get the video some airplay. If I like the song, or don’t need the money, I work for free.

5. Want a partner ? (hehe)

I’m always looking!

Re: WOW Look at this kids work!

all the Kubrick **** has been deleted, don't be offended it just doesn't belong here.

Re: WOW Look at this kids work!

I wanted for some inexplicable reason to say this all during ARTS week... but dammit, you look so much like a cross between Haley Joel Osment and an 18 year old Gene Wilder.

LOL. Get some new stuff on the site man. Can't keep riding the waves from the same old movies our whole career, can we? ;-)

Looks to me like you woke up in a Los Angeles...

Re: WOW Look at this kids work!

lets see i just got my dvx and I use vegas and ae soooo in about 1,000,000,000 years I can make a video like that YES!

All your work looks really good. keep it up:)

wow this is a long thread:)

Re: WOW Look at this kids work!

thats some awesome work, just goes to show you what you can do, if you put the time and patience to it.

i thought i was watching an expensive video, i loved the color correction, you got potential matt.

i would like to say that any of us is able to do work like matt or even better (no offense to matt)

most importantly is that we must realize that we have a powerful tool to use and vast resources on production skill.

i believe if someone is gonna use this cam to film and shake like uncle bobs birthday, then buy a hi-8

no offence to uncle bob, and shake can be artistic when needed.
