1DC: Would you still buy a 1DC right now?

Have opportunity to purchase a used 1DC for about 9k. I've been in the market for a new C100 (or used C300) but this opportunity just came up.

Would you consider it right now, in the current market?

Cons
- It's no longer the exclusive 4k DSLR offering. You can get the superb GH4 and soon the A7S will be able to shoot 4k as well. Even with a metabones adapter, the GH4 is less than 2500, and the A7 is less than 3000. Even used, the 1DC is 3x the price at least.
- Not sure how its used value will hold up long term, or whether it will be a depreciation disaster. The C100 and C300s hold value superbly, but they have the demand while the 1DC may not. With the influx of cheap and good 4k cameras in the coming year, there is only one direction it can go.

Pros
- I like shooting DSLRs because I do work that requires me to shoot BOTH stills and video. It's easier for me not having to lug around two cameras. Mostly corporate work for me.
- I love the robust 1DX weather sealing and build quality. Feels great in the hands and it looks professional. I hesitate to bring a rinky dink GH4 sized camera to corporate shoots.

I think the question is mostly about depreciation and value. The image is great and I will put up with the file sizes. Unlike many here, I am pretty happy to shoot on a DSLR form factor. I am almost always on a monopod or a handheld Steadicam pilot (it's my exercise ;) so DSLR shape and size works well in my application. Currently shooting on a fleet of 5D3s.

Thoughts?

1DC owners, care to chime in?

Do you shoot a lot of run & gun stuff? especially in low light situation? 1D C produces great 4K images with good dynamic range and colour. But it's not very future proof.

UHDTV standard requires at least 10bit signal, so GH4 with YAGH interface unit attached will give you many more options, and it looks badass too :)

Forget A7S, the jello and colour is offputting.

The 1DC as a still camera is unbeatable. So if you use stills you will continue to use it for years. It has a nice 1.3 crop factor for 4K.

I would still buy it today, under similar conditions as when I bought it in the first place: having some production work that paid for the camera quickly.

For strictly personal use, I was otherwise happy with my old 5Dmk3. For strictly video work I was happy with my C100.

I WASN'T happy always bringing two cameras (for stills+video) and maintaining two rigs.

But a new one is only $9999, you really want a second hand?

Users tend to use the 1D very rough

Quality wise, is not what other cheaper can match. Also since you do not have a 1DX may be it is the better photo camera you have waited for long long time. However due to its speed, size and weight many accessories that fit a 5d will not fit a 1D ( including CF cards)

The only other camera I will consider now is the A7s+ recorder. If budget allow I would still buy the 1DC first. The lens system for the sony is minimal and more expensive than EF.

A7s is good for extremely low light condition though.

In the states, the 1DC has gone back up to $12,000 as far as I can tell. Kind of surprising, actually.
