Would you rather have the Camcorder Form factor over DSLR?

I like the DSLR form factor, except for when I'm using the canon 70-200 2.8. Then I hate life and feel like my wrists are broken at the end of the shoot, plus the sheer size of the lens kills the indiscreetness of the rig.

I personally like not so much the form factor of the DSLR, but rather the modularity of it. If you think about it, the DSLRs can do pretty much what RED is trying to do with the EPIC and SCARLET. Sure its not as advanced but if you get a good shoulder rig you can configure your DSLR to however you want it and what ever's most ergonomic for you.

Sure there are a few things that I would like changed, mostly the position of the battery. Its a real pain in the ass on my T2i to unscrew a quick release plate to change the battery. Its supposed to be a QUICK release for a reason.

I like the ergonomics of a broadcast-camera. That's why it's a surprise to me there haven't been any DLSR-handles based on those, instead it has been all cinema-rig-style handles wich aren't ergonomic at all. Open handed/fingertips up beats clenching fists everytime.

I own a T2i and a HV30. While the T2i gives me nice shots that I could not accomplish with the HV30, the HV30 is still a camera I like to use for it's features. Sony is suppose to come out with an interchangeable lens camcorder, but those will have custom made lenses, which does not really make me happy. If the camera would come with a standard mount that DSLRs use, then I would rather use that than the DSLR due to the features I'm missing on a DSLR setup.
