Would this work with the GH1???

I don't think it will line up with the GH1 screen. I've owned the grip and shoulder support twice and never really likes it. Very plastic, hard and not quite the right angles for gripping and staying on your shoulder. There is better out there. As for the follow focus it's good for the price and will get the job done, but again there is better, but for more money.

I did quite some filming with my GH1 and I realized soon, that the lcds resolution is not good enough to pull focus 100% acurately. The EVF is so much better for focussing. That´s why nowadays my eye brow hurts after a days shooting, as there´s no eyecup yet available.

So maybe you´d want to look into that aswell in which case this rig wouldn´t be right for you.
 
For $800 I'd look into something more like Redrock micro or Zacuto. The LCDVF probably won't line up with the GH1 so you'd be better off buying a LCDVF brand one or something made for the GH1. Also, a lot of stuff like Indisystem and a few other small guys build a lot of gear that is just as good or better than the Cavision stuff for about half the price.
